Philmont in lehigh Acres

Philmont ( an awesomely awesome band ) is coming this Saturday Dec 5th at 11:00 am for an acoustic jam session, cd signing, and just hang with us at Second Chances!

Please guys can you share with everyone local on your FB, MYSPACE, and any other SOCIAL NETWORKING SITE that this band is coming to Lehigh Acres to visit Second Chances Christian Bookstore to bless our kids with a FREE acoustic jam, sign cd’s, give tips and encouragement to our young musicians….Dec 5th THIS SAT at 11:00 AM THEY ARE ON TOUR WITH DECEMBERADIO and have graciously made our town a priority…

The music program is OFF THE HOOK- we have the most talented instructors who selflessly give of their time, great students, and an annointed program. Are you interested in learning an instrument? Ages 13-19 are always free through Fine Tuned Ministries ( which lives in the bookstore ) Older than 19? Our intructors work with all ages for a 10 dollar fee for a 45 minute session.

META teen bible study is every Thursday night at 6:30 and is a experience you don’t want to miss, talk heart to heart about the issues you face today..School, Parents,Drugs, Peer Pressure and more…This is a very laid back setting, so bring a friend and join us.

Fine Tuned Ministries Free Music Program- Young Adults ages 13-19 may sign up for various music programs such as guitar, keyboard, drums ect. It is a six workshop program that includes use of ministry instruments, stage time and one on one. We are also in need of volunteer musicians to help with program. We have been open a month now and its time for some celebration! We will have live music from the Akkers family, Born of Dust, Horizons Fall, and more. We have the awesome Refuge Drama team all day as well!

God is so awesome really! We have had over 50 kids sign up for the music program, we have a computer lab now open to the public, our stage is rockin’ everyday with some pretty cool talent. Lehigh Acres thank you for welcoming us with open arms!

We are days from opening. I am excited, have butterflies, am thankful, am amazed..I mean all these things I have done in life have prepared me for now. Library Commissioner, Musician, SongWriter, Instructor, Christ Follower and currently School Board Member. I have a bookstore where I get to teach music and share the gospel! I serve an awesome God! He was grooming me before I even knew it..

 Everyday we have been witness to miracles-I know those of you who spend time in the store can attest-God is moving.

Following God’s call on your life is choice that can be the greatest adventure you have ever experienced-it’s not always easy.  You have to put aside all the “reasoning” that living in the world has taught us and put on a coat of faith and shoes of obediance. If there are trials don’t assume you are on the wrong path-get on your knees and he will show you. Don’t assume that everyone is going to be filled with the joy and confetti hearts you are sprinkling as you dance merrily away telling everyone and anyone who will listen what God is doing in your life and ministry. Expect nay sayers, not just the world but ( Gasp ) fellow believers as well. Expect upheaval, expect change, expect not to understand, expect to surrender. But know God has a plan and a purpose for you, he will see you through. Know he is using you to touch people in ways you may never see in your lifetime. Know that he is in controll. Know that he loves you. And enjoy the ride.

Kerusso’s Happiest Worker

I would like the “powers that be” at Kerusso to know that they have an awesome employee as well as ambassador in Jesus over there. Vito has been praying for us and working with our modest budget from day one of Second Chances. He is not interested in selling us merchandise that will sit on our shelves and racks just for the sake of making the sale. But Vito checks in, offers prayers, support, and encouragement as we walk in faith for God’s Kingdom. Vito when we finally make the numbers work and make our first order we will have a facebook party
